Clear Correct clear braces offer an excellent alternative to traditional metal braces. Dr. James Lewis, your New Port Richey, FL, dentist, explains how the braces can improve your smile.
What's the difference between clear braces and metal braces?
Metal braces use a system of wires and brackets that are cemented to your teeth to improve alignment. Every four to six weeks, the wires are tightened. When you wear clear braces, nothing will be attached to your teeth. Instead, you'll wear removable aligner trays that have been custom made to correct your problem. Every two weeks, you'll open a new set of trays that will gently guide your teeth into the proper alignment.
What issues do Clear Correct clear braces correct?
Clear Correct clear braces correct mild to moderate orthodontic issues. Although they're not appropriate for severe issues, they offer impressive results for:
- Underbites
- Overbites
- Crossbites
- Open bites
- Gaps
- Crowding
What are the advantages of Clear Correct clear braces?
Clear Correct clear braces offer multiple advantages, including:
- Flexibility: Would you rather not wear your braces while you play sports or attend a special event? Although you can't temporarily remove wire braces, you can take out your aligner trays for a few hours without affecting your progress.
- Self-confidence: Wearing metal braces can make you feel self-conscious every time you smile. When you choose clear braces, it will be difficult for anyone to tell that you're even wearing braces.
- No Food Limitations: If you wear metal braces, you'll receive a list of foods you should avoid. Hard foods can break braces wires, while sticky foods tend to get caught in brackets and wires. Since you'll remove your clear braces when you eat, you can continue to eat your favorite foods without a problem.
- Easy Oral Hygiene: Brushing and flossing when you wear metal braces is a time-consuming process due to the wires and brackets. Since clear braces aren't attached to your teeth, it's simple to floss and brush your teeth.
